GTCC Department: Consultancy Services
Internship Period: 1 February – 30 April 2017
Hobbies: Traveling & Horseback riding
Motto: “It’s never too late to be happy.”
Why did you choose to do an internship at GTCC?
Because the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce offers the experience of working in an intercultural environment, with both native people and Germans working there. The reason why I chose Bangkok is that I was in contact with a former GTCC intern who always talked about her time in Bangkok very positively. Furthermore, I had never been to Asia before, so this could be the perfect opportunity to experience a completely new culture, and it is also a good start for my trips to other Asian countries.
What is your first impression of Thailand/Bangkok?
I got the first glimpse of Bangkok through the window of the airplane when it landed. It was early morning, everything was still dark and Bangkok was just a sea of lights. It was an astonishing sight and describes my feeling about Bangkok perfectly. It is the biggest city I have ever been to, and it can be quite overwhelming, but it definitely never gets boring. And the friendliness of the Thai people continues to amaze me every day.
What do you plan to do after your internship?
After my internship at GTCC I will travel through South East Asia and discover more of Thailand and the neighboring countries, before leaving Asia for Australia for a couple of weeks. In July I will start a semester abroad at a university in New Zealand, where I’ll spend the rest of the year. After another internship in South America, I will go back to Germany in April 2018 and finish the last year of my studies.
What thing do you want to be remembered for?
I would like to be remembered for delivering quality work and participating in working life as well as contributing to a positive working atmosphere. I wish that people would remember me for being helpful and supportive to my co-workers and facilitating their work.
